Blog and be part of a community 2021

I have not written on this blog for a long time. It needs updating. Let us begin.

It is still possible to blog online and be part of a community. You can, of course, create your own blog and monetise it. Then you can say what you want and have no site rules or conditions to follow.

However, it is nice to be part of a community, so below I list what still exists in 2021.  My aim is not so much to tell you where you will get paid for blogging, although some of these places claim to pay you when you reach a threshold, but to give an overview of where you can give yourself some exposure as a blogger. There may be better ways to make money than using these sites, but they are fun.

My favourite place is MyLot, which continues to pay the odd $5. This site works on the principle that to earn, you need to read, like and comment on what others write. It survived the demise of most other places like it, and is a friendly online community. However, longer or more serious posts may get overlooked.

HubPages remain stable. I don't know if people earn much there, but it is a place to write. People are writing on Tuetego. PersonaPaper does not pay, but you can still post there. Blogjob still exists. Vocal looks good. You can share your voice and earn cryptocurrency on Steemit. Then there is Medium, where you pay to upgrade for access to more. Wikinut still exists, but does not pay as far as I know.
